Outgoing Georgetown mayor and council members to hold special meeting to "review and amend city ordinances"

Georgetown City Council was supposed to hold just one meeting in December, but it was announced this morning that a special meeting will be held next week.
According to information from Georgetown City Clerk Stephanie Buccione, the purpose of the meeting will be to "review and amend city ordinances."
No information has been given about what ordinances will be discussed. An agenda outlining the meeting will be posted “no later than 24 hours in advance” of the meeting scheduled for 5 PM on December 11.
We have requested more information about the ordinances being considered and are awaiting a response.
To amend an ordinance requires two readings. If ordinance changes are approved during the special meeting, second reading can take place during the regular city council meeting on December 18 – the final meeting for Mayor Carol Jayroe and council members Jim Clements, Jonathan Angner, and Jimmy Morris.
Newly Elected Mayor Jay Doyle and new council members Hobson Henry Milton, Sharon Melton, and Jessie Walker begin their service in January.
The meeting will be held in the Municipal Courtroom, 2222 Highmarket Street.
