A Revised Comprehensive Plan was just released on June 3, 2024. Please read, this may be put forth for a vote to approve at the next City Planning Board meeting on June 25th.
City Comprehensive Plan Vote Delayed
Last night, Tuesday, May 28th, The City Planning Board voted unanimously to delay vote. They want more time to review a revised document. The present document is incomplete. Date and time of next meeting is to be released. A full room of citizens attended the meeting to speak up about their concerns for the future of Georgetown.
May 28th - City Planning Commission to Vote on Comprehensive Plan - 2040
The new proposed 2040 Comprehensive Plan for The City of Georgetown is coming up for a vote by The Planning Commission. Going forward, this will be the guide for The City Council and The Planning Commission.
The crux of the plan calls for relaxed zoning and higher density throughout the city. This along with the plan’s emphasis on a tourism based economy puts us on track to be the next Myrtle Beach.
The Planning Commision meeting will be held on May 28th at 6:00pm at the Municipal Court House to vote to adopt this new plan, please join us if you can.
